We’re taking part in a pilot with our SMS software supplier (accuRx) for NHS App integration.
Messages sent by the surgery using accuRx will be delivered to the NHS App rather than by SMS for patients who have the NHS App installed & have notifications turned on.
Patients who don’t have the NHS App will still be sent SMS messages.
Also, patients who receive the message in the NHS App but don’t read it within 60 minutes will then be sent an SMS message.
The pilot will run for 12 weeks from Monday 6th January.
It’s hoped that sending messages directly into the NHS App will give patients a greater assurance that messages sent by GP surgeries are genuine, as well as reducing the cost of SMS messaging on the NHS.
