Important: Expected registration times
We aim to complete new patient registrations within one week, but this can be two-three weeks when demand is higher. We will notify you by email when your request has been fully processed. Please do not contact the surgery to check your registration status before three weeks.
Important: If there are delays
We receive many requests with missing information which result in processing delays or rejections. Please read each section carefully & complete the form as fully as possible.
Catchment area
Before filling out a registration form, check you are in our catchment area.
Our catchment area boundary is the inner ring road surrounding Manchester City Centre.
You can also find out which GPs you can register with on the NHS website.
Out of area
The Docs Surgery is currently part of the “out of area” registration scheme run by NHS England. This means we may, at the GPs’ discretion, retain patients who would ordinarily fall outside of our catchment area, if they move out of our catchment area. You will need to let us know if you do wish to stay registered.
Unfortunately at this time we have suspended registering new patients who live outside of our catchment area.
Registering with the surgery
To register with the surgery:
- fill out an adult new patient registration form online if you are 16 years old or over
- fill out a child new patient registration form online if you are 0 to 15 years old
- fill out a new baby registration form online if your baby has not yet been registered with a GP surgery
Please attach the requested photo ID & proof of address with your request when prompted to do so.
When you register, it’s helpful to have your NHS number. You can use the NHS website to find your NHS number.
