Appointments

Before requesting an appointment with one of our clinicians, it may be worth looking at our self-referrals page to check if a surgery appointment is needed for the service you require.

How to Request an Appointment

Following NHS England guidance, we are currently operating a total triage model for all appointment requests. Please visit our Consulting Room and complete an online form.

Patients without internet access can call us on 0161 237 9490 and a member of staff will complete a form on their behalf.

Extended Access Appointments

We can offer GP, nurse and HCA appointments in the evening and weekends at other practices around Manchester if the times suit you better. Please contact reception if you wish to know more.

Appointment Reminders

The Docs have a text messaging appointment reminder system and we request that patients ensure they keep us updated with their current mobile phone number. If any of your personal details change, please let us know by completing our online form.

Our text messaging service provides you with the option to reply to the message and cancel your appointment. Please note cancellations will only be processed if the cancellation text message is received at least 30 minutes before your appointment. If you cancel after this time it will still count as a Did Not Attend.

You will receive a text message confirming your appointment date and time one week before your appointment. You will then receive a second text message reminding you of your appointment date and time two days before the appointment.

If you do not wish to receive any text messages from The Docs, then please let us know and we will opt you out of this service.

Cancelling an Appointment

If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know as soon as possible, this may enable someone else to be seen.

To cancel, you can:

It is our policy that if you fail to attend three appointments without apology, or explanation you will be removed from the practice list.
